Fun & Festive Christmas Dinner Table Setting
When it comes to creating a fun and festive family dinner table this holiday season, look no further than this kid-friendly Christmas table setting I put together.

This year with my family and grandkiddies spending Christmas with us, I wanted to set my round dining table in a fun and festive way that both young and old would enjoy.
You can easily create a merry dinnertime atmosphere with a classic red plaid tablecloth, nostalgic Santa face paper placemats, along with a few festive red and white decorations and a classic evergreen wreath.

What really made the table setting come together though are these vintage Santa Paper Placemats from Hester & Cook. I designed the table setting around them.

The nostalgic look of the Santa face brings back many fond memories of Christmastime when I was a child.
The table setting has also been extra special for me to create as I had the very helpful assistance of my 4-1/2 year old granddaughter, Zoe, when setting the table so I could take the photos to create this post. :-)

The rounder shape of the placemats work well on my round table as rectangular placemats always overlap and don’t look very nice.

I placed a faux cedar wreath around the bubble glass candle holder I keep on the table. I changed out the large white candle that I usually keep in it to a red battery-operated one. The red one is no longer available, but I have found a few similar. Links for these are at the end of this post.
I recently found the green felt snowflakes that I placed under a Kosta Boda Snowball candle holder at each place setting at HomeGoods.

The Seasons Greetings Double Old-Fashioned Glasses I have had for 39 years! I got this set of holiday glasses for free when I signed up for a Sears credit card when Ed and I were first married. They can be considered vintage now. I bring them out every December as it wouldn’t be Christmas at my house without using these glasses all season long.

I made the plaid napkins for each place setting using the leftover fabric from the Plaid Christmas Stockings I made for the fireplace mantel in my living room.
A candy cane with a jingle bell and holly cutout tied on add a sweet little detail on the dinner plates.
Santa Placemat Styling Ideas
When using the Santa placemats on a dining table, you can get creative with how you style them. They can be used individually as placemats like I did or scattered down the center of a long table as a runner.

One way to style them on your table is to place your plate directly in the center of the placemat.

You can also try offsetting your plate for a different look for your table.
They can even be used as a Christmas decoration anywhere around your home as wall art, on doors, windows and more.

One of my favorite decorative things to do in my house is setting a festive table. Setting the Santa table for Christmas this year has been a true joy.
