Hot Buttered Rum Recipe
This recipe creates a hot butter mix that you can make ahead of time and store in your refrigerator for 6 months. When you want to serve a hot buttered rum drink in a mug, simply place a heaping tablespoon of the butter/sugar mixture with the rum and fill mug with boiling water. Stir well. Garnish with cinnamon stick, lemon slice or whipped cream.

Combine sugar, butter, spices, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Beat at medium speed using an electric mixer until well mixed. Store butter mixture in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
To Serve: Place 1-2 heaping tablespoon’s butter mixture, 1 jigger (1-1/2 ounces) rum, and 1 cinnamon stick in a mug; fill with boiling water. Stir well. Garnish with lemon slice or whipped cream.
